Your Borland story, there were several misstatements:

Borland is better known as the maker Turbo Pascal and C, and Paradox.
But NOT dBASE, which started breathing at the late Ashton-Tate,
another mismanaged company.

The statement about 1996 being Borland's Waterloo, as if 'Microsoft
did it', is just wrong. Borland began its quagmire period almost
immediately after the Ashton-Tate purchase, which was clearly an
over-extension of their resources.

Now that the PC database world has been in relative arrest
standards-wise, nothing The Company Formerly Known As Borland can do
will reverse the damage caused by years of neglect. Perhaps if more
specific things were said instead of standard buzzword-laden
vagueries, the rest of us would take 'em more seriously, eh?
