As a developer, I have been a long standing Borland user. But on my
last project, the 'customer' dictated using MS tools (due to the
'impending' collapse of Borland). Well, it has been over a year,
Borland is still there, AND MS's dev tools are NOT AS GOOD!

Furthermore, if I want to use MS's Dev tools, I get all the MS
positioning/politicing %$#@. I used their Java for a while, only to
find that it did not report the errors/warnings that Symantec V-Cafe /
Sun JDK did. And if you want to use the Help 'System' in the MS Dev
tools, you are FORCED to make IE your default browser! Why? Because
that's their agenda!

I am now back to using Borland for my C/C++ environment. I am happy to
lend my support to them.

Name Change? Probably a good idea.

When I was with EDS, we were not permitted to use Delphi, because of
Borland's stability problem. However, we were allowed to use products
from start-up companies. Go figure... A large project was started with
VB instead of Delphi. With VB the 'demo' version was quickly produced.
But when it came time to develope 'the real thing', the projects
complexity overwelmed the VB language/environment. The developers kept
saying, 'the next release of VB will fix this'. Well the project was
eventually KILLED! Would a better language/environment have made a
difference? At LEAST one less Straw. Enough? Who knows now...
